How a photo becomes crystal
No jargon, no mystery. This is exactly what happens between the photo on your phone and the finished crystal in a gift box.
From your photo to finished crystal
Four steps, one studio, no middleman. Most people are surprised how simple it is.
Send the photo
Email it, message it, or bring it in on your phone. We check focus, lighting and resolution before anything is cut.
Pick shape, size and colour
Tall shapes suit one face. Wide shapes suit a group. Six crystal colours on everything except the keychains.
We engrave it in 3D
A laser fires millions of microscopic points inside the crystal, building your photo as a solid image suspended in the block.
Collect or we post it
Hand-finished, checked, and packed in a gift box with its LED base. Collect at Werribee Plaza or we post it Australia-wide.
What 3D laser engraving actually is
Inside a block of optical K9 crystal, a focused laser creates a microscopic fracture at a precise point. Repeat that a few million times, at different depths, and those points form an image you can see from every angle. Nothing is printed, nothing is stuck on, and nothing can peel or fade, because the picture is part of the glass.
That is why the shape of the block matters. The engraving occupies the volume, so a portrait photo in a wide block leaves empty crystal either side, and a group photo in a tall block loses the people at the edges.
Choosing between the shapes
- One face, standing: Rectangle Tall, Notched Tall, or a Vertical Keychain.
- A group in a row: Rectangle Wide, Notched Wide, or Dog Bone Wide for a pet with their family.
- Two people close together: the Heart, or the Cut Corner Diamond.
- A company logo or an award: the Prestige, or a Rectangle Tall in Extra Large.
- A pet: Dog Bone Tall for a single portrait, Dog Bone Wide for two.
- Something to carry: any of the three keychains, $45.
Choosing the right photo matters more than the shape, so read that page before you order if you are working from an old picture.
Adding engraved text
Names, dates and short messages can be engraved alongside the image for $25. Send the exact wording and spelling; we engrave what you write, so a typo in your message becomes a typo in the crystal.
Colours and light bases
Every shape except the keychains comes in six crystal colours: White, Red, Blue, Green, Purple and Orange. The colour tints the crystal; the engraving itself stays silver-white inside it. An LED display base is included free, and the light is what makes the image lift out of the block.
Turnaround and collection
Most orders are ready in about 5 to 7 business days. Collect at Shop K33, Werribee Plaza, or we post it Australia-wide and to selected countries overseas. If you have a date to hit, say so when you order and we will tell you honestly whether it is possible.

How it works — questions
How does the photo crystal process work?
Send us your photo, choose a shape, size and crystal colour, and we laser-etch the image in 3D inside a block of optical crystal at our Werribee Plaza studio. Every piece is made to order, hand-finished, and packed in a gift box with its LED display base.
Do I need a professional photo?
No. Most of what we engrave comes off a phone. What matters is that the photo is in focus, reasonably well lit, and large enough in the frame. We check every image before we cut and tell you if a different photo would come out better.
How long does an order take?
Most made-to-order crystals are ready in about 5 to 7 business days. Tell us your deadline when you order and we will confirm whether we can meet it before you pay.
Does custom text engraving cost extra?
Yes. Adding personalised text such as names, dates or a short message is an additional $25, added when you place the order.
Can I see one before I buy?
Yes. The studio is Shop K33 inside Werribee Plaza. Come in, hold the shapes, and look at them under the light. Most people decide in about five minutes once they can see them.
Ready to turn your photo into crystal?
Send us the photo and we will tell you honestly which shape suits it. Or come to the studio at Werribee Plaza and hold one first.
